Lisa teaches a variety of different styles of yoga that stem from safe and therapeutic alignment practices. Her classes are accessible and empowering, with intelligent and intuitive sequencing.
Deeply present and connected to the group, Lisa encourages her students to take charge of their own experience, and blends breath work, yoga poses, and awareness of movement to create a holistic practice that students can then begin to take off the mat and into their lives.
Styles include: Flow and power flow, restorative, yin, and alignment-based therapeutic yoga.
The subtle benefits of a sound practice include feeling more peaceful and confident, connection to self and others, a deeper sense of self-worth, and much more. As energetic and vibratory beings, we are very much affected by vibration. Sound yoga is the conscious use of a variety of sound practices, especially the voice, in order to restore harmony within the physical and energy bodies. The “internal sonic massage” created by a vocal practice promotes well being by lowering the heart rate, activating digestion, enhancing the immune system and lowering stress responses.
Lisa blends the conscious movement of yoga asana with more esoteric meditative practices, traditional chants chants and exploratory vocal meditations for a healing experience that will leave groups and individuals feeling lighter, happier, restored and balanced.
What to expect:
Everyone’s experience is different – most likely, you will experience a general sense of well being and harmony with life, feeling elevated and balanced following a workshop or session. You may notice increased digestion in the days following a session; alleviation and dissipation of pain; deeper, more restful sleep, and you may even experience larger shifts and life “aha” moments that will lead you down new paths. A regular sound practice will help build confidence, and a deeper sense of self-worth.
Acutonics: Acutonics® is a gentle, non-invasive sound-based healing modality in which sound vibration is applied to specific acupuncture and acupressure points, trigger points and chakras through the use of tuning forks. It is a unique approach to healing that uses sound to relax and entrain the mind body into a healthier vibration. The sound waves created by these tuning forks vibrate and travel deeply into the body along the meridian lines to correct imbalances, uncover emotions, stimulate growth and harmony to promote physical and emotional well-being. The forks are tuned to natural harmonies based on the orbital properties of the Earth, Moon, Sun and planets.
What to expect:
An Acutonics session bring you to deep relaxation. While the forks can disperse energy blockages, you will feel calmer and re-energized. You may notice specific pain or discomfort dissipate, or you may notice other subtler shifts, such as deeper sleep, more energy and vitality, and much more.
Lisa is a Level 1 Acutonics practitioner
Reiki is a gentle technique for stress reduction, relaxation and well-being which originates from Japan. It is non invasive, with gentle touch on different parts of the body that helps restore and rebalance life force energy (also known as prana, or chi).
While Lisa is new to the practice of Reiki, she is not new to the concept of energy, or energy healing. She is a Level 1 Reiki practitioner and primarily blends Reiki into her other practices of yoga, acutonics and sound therapy.
